SLCC Podcast: JK Rowling – Leader of the Equality Revolution

The panel featured on today’s podcast took place on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 7pm in room 251a of the Salt Palace Convention Center. It was titled J.K. Rowling: Leader of the Equality Revolution and is about the powerful efforts of author JK Rowling to foster equality through her books, chiefly the Harry Potter series.

Debra Jenson (@debrajenson) who you may remember from the SLCC debate, is a communications professor at Utah State University.

Dawn Pink (@badger4lyfe) who was on the panel about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is a local activist and Harry Potter fanatic

Lehua Parker (@LehuaParker) is the award-winning author of the MG/YA Pacific literature magic realism series, The Niuhi Shark Saga: One Boy, No Water; One Shark, No Swim;and One Truth, No Lie.

Originally from Hawaii and a graduate of The Kamehameha Schools, Lehua is an author, educator, and public speaker. Trained in literary criticism and an advocate of indigenous cultural narratives, Lehua is a frequent speaker at conferences and symposiums. You can learn more about her at www.lehuaparker.com
