Michael Rosenbaum is an American actor, writer and director best known for his portrayal of Lex Luthor in the smash CW superhero series Smallville. Rosenbaum appeared in over twenty films, including Urban Legend, Sweet November, Bringing Down The House, and Sorority Boys. He recently worked on Father of Invention with Kevin Spacey, Catch .44 with Forest Whitaker and Bruce Willis, and Hit and Run with Bradley Cooper and Kristen Bell. Currently, Rosenbaum is starring as the lead astronaut in the period comedy Mission Control for NBC and Universal. The show is produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. Rosenbaum has worked with nearly everyone in Hollywood, from Steve Martin and Christopher Walken to Clint Eastwood.
Aside from acting, Michael also started a production company, Rose and Bomb Productions. They recently completed their first feature film, Back in the Day, now on DVD. Rosenbaum wrote, directed and starred in the movie, alongside Morena Baccarin, Nick Swardson, and Harland Williams. Rose and Bomb Productions also produced such innovative concepts as Ghild, the coming of age tale of a boy born a giant (winner of “Outstanding Achievement in Short Filmmaking” at the Newport Beach Film Festival and Official Selection of Palm Spring International Shortsfest and LA Shorts) and Fade Into You (Official selection at Scream Fest), a hit among fans of the horror genre. Rosenbaum also wrote, Saved By Zeros, a half hour single camera comedy for Sony and Happy Madison.
Rosenbaum is also known for portraying Dutch Nilbog on Fox’s Breaking In, and his voiceover work in animation, such as his role of The Flash in the DC Animated Universe in series like Justice League, Static Shock and Justice League Unlimited and many others. He also provided voice work for video games like Lollipop Chainsaw and DC’s Infinite Crisis and animated series like Jackie Chan Adventures, Batman Beyond and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Rosenbaum also had limited appearances in TV series such as Friends and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
