Simon Helberg

Simon Helberg is an American actor, voice actor and comedian best known for his role as Howard Wolowitz, a geeky, wannabe “Casanova” with an eccentric fashion sense in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, currently in its seventh season, for which he won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He is also known for his role as Moist in the Joss Whedon-led web miniseries Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.




Stephen Amell

Stephen Amell plays the title character in the CW’s hit series Arrow, based on the famous DC Comics superhero, The Green Arrow. Known by day as Oliver Queen, the spoiled heir to his tycoon father’s empire, he moonlights as a crime-fighting vigilante, utilizing skills he gained while shipwrecked on a remote island for five years. Arrow‘s premiere drew over 4 million viewers, making it the CW’s most watched program in over three years. Throughout its first season, the show continued to be a ratings and critical success.




Manu Bennett

Manu Bennett is an Australian-New Zealand actor. He is best known for his portrayal as the Gallic gladiator Crixus, in the Starz television series Spartacus, as Azog the Defiler in Peter Jackson’s three-part film adaptation based on the The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, and as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in The CW hit TV series Arrow.





Dean O’Gorman

Dean O’Gorman is an actor, artist, and photographer from New Zealand, best known for playing the dwarf Fíli in The Hobbit trilogy and for playing Anders in The Almighty Johnsons. Dean appeared in both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess multiple times, as well as holding a regular role as Iolaus in Young Hercules opposite Ryan Gosling, and in McLeod’s Daughters as Luke Morgan.




Jon-Heder (1)sliderJon Heder

Jon Heder is an American actor and filmmaker whose feature film debut came in 2004 as the title character of the comedy film Napoleon Dynamite. He has also acted in the films The Benchwarmers, School for Scoundrels, Blades of Glory, Mama’s Boy, and When in Rome, and provided voice talents in the animated films Monster House and Surf’s Up, as well as the Napoleon Dynamite animated series.

Weta Workshop

Weta Workshop houses a range of disciplines under one roof – including conceptual design, weapons, armour & chainmaille, specialist props, vehicles, specialty costumes, models & miniatures, special makeup & prosthetics, public art & displays. Although best known for the company’s design and effects work on award-winning film projects, including Lord of the Rings Trilogy, King Kong, Avatar, District 9, The Adventures of Tintin and The Hobbit Trilogy, Weta Workshop offers services to all creative industries throughout the world.




Tom, Bert and William Troll Statues

The gruesome Troll Trio come to life in these exquisite life-size statues from Weta Workshop. Tom the Troll, (voiced by Salt Lake Comic Con alumni William Kircher in the film), Bert the Troll (voiced by Mark Hadlow), and William the Troll (voiced by Peter Hambleton) are finely detailed replicas designed and sculpted by Weta Workshop, who also made the conceptual designs for the trolls and other creatures for the films.




Gollum, Gandalf and Azog Statues

Weta continues the legacy of producing finely crafted, highly detailed full scale statues from Middle-earth. The essence of each character expertly captured in every piece. The most iconic creature from The Lord Of The Rings movie trilogy, Gollum was also a technological breakthrough. Gandalf the Grey was first to discover the true nature of the ring and took it upon himself to orchestrate the forces of light against the evil advance of Sauron, the Dark Lord. A huge and pale Gundabad Orc, Azog has been brooding on thoughts of revenge against Thorin Oakenshield for the shame of defeat and the loss of his arm.



Evermore Park

Established in 2013 and projected to open in 2015, Evermore is a forty acre theatrical theme park, set in Victorian London. Evermore’s event schedule will consist of Ripper’s Cove, a Fall and Halloween season event, Christmas Cove for the Holiday and Winter season, and Summer Cove, which will include a series of week long events, weekend celebrations, concerts and other activities all summer long!





KidCon coming back strong! We have a great stage lineup of Performers, Cosplayers, and Crafters. This year we will also feature many chances for photo-ops with some of your favorite characters. KidCon will be hosting Robot Wars! We are proud to have the First Robotics Competition and the First Lego League back with us again. FRC and FLL will be providing educational fun opportunities for children 9 to 18. We will also feature a Super Hero Training Camp to teach you what it is to be a hero.

Comic Con Cosplay Classes – Week 2

New lights meet old-school stitching. How to plan, prep and sew traditionally tailored costume pieces that contain light. Tonight during this 3 hour workshop, make and take home either some new wrist bracers, a hood, or even a collar containing EL wire, LEDs, fiber optics or other affordable, readily available and self- contained consumer electronics. We’ll show you some strategies and methods for building these into your costume projects, so you can change them out, repair your units if needed, replace your batteries and always GLOW on demand.

SLC Zombie Walk

The SLC Zombie Walk is a public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes and invade Salt Lake City! Usually taking place in an Salt Lake urban centre, the participants will make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a zombie-like fashion, often limping their way towards a public space. Join us in your best zombie garb and take on downtown Salt Lake City!

Mythica Premiere

Take a journey into a world of magic, adventure, and fantasy with Mythica. Starring Salt Lake Comic Con guest Kevin Sorbo, Mythica is an ambitious indie project filmed and produced in Utah. The first film in the five-part Mythica series will be premiering at the Salt Lake Comic Con Film Festival! Mythica is an epic fantasy following the exploits of Marek, a slave girl destined to be a great wizard, and her team of adventurers. Come see the premiere at Salt Lake Comic Con 2014, taking place September 4-6, 2014 at the Salt Palace.




Salt Lake Comic Con Film Festival

The 2nd annual Salt Lake Comic Con Film Festival is looking for the finest in independent short and feature-length films. We welcome Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and all types of Paranormal and Supernatural Horror films, as well as films and documentaries centered on Geek Culture or Pop Culture. We are also looking for Post-Apocalyptic/Dystopian, Superhero, Steampunk, Alternate Reality, Mysteries, Thrillers, Action/Adventure, Film Noir, and Comedies. Feature-length and short Animated films are also welcome.

Neal Adams

Neal Adams shaped comic books into the medium they are today. Neal had legendary ‘runs’ on Batman, X-Men, Green Lantern/Green Arrow and Deadman. Adams rescued Batman from the campy TV show, and transformed him into his present, “Avenger of the Night” persona. When people say ‘modern Batman,’ they mean Neal Adams’ Batman. His run led directly to the realistic incarnation seen in Batman Returns, and the The Dark Knight movies.




Rob Prior

Rob has been in the comic industry working with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Todd McFarlane, Kevin Eastman, Image Comics to name a few. Some of the comic titles include Spawn, Terminator, Deep Space 9, Evil Ernie, Lady Death, Heavy Metal and many others. Mr. Prior is also a leading storyboard artist, providing art for major motion pictures and television series.





Elizabeth Breitweiser

After years of working almost exclusively for Marvel on titles like Captain America, Hulk and Agents of Atlas, Elizabeth is currently working on Image’s Fatale with Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. Her most recent work for Marvel Comics was Winter Soldier, again alongside Ed Brubaker.





Mitch Breitweiser

Mitch Breitweiser has been the artist of the creator owned project titled Phantom Jack, published by Image Comics. Mitch has since signed an exclusive contract to draw for Marvel, and completed Drax the Destroyer as his first assignment. Mitch has left a lasting impression with his Captain America books including Captain America: Patriot Mini Series, Captain America 615.1 and Captain America: The Chosen.




Bill Galvan

Bill Galvan has been a comic book fan all his life, and has been drawing comics professionally for the past 10 years.  Bill currently draws for Archie Comics as a freelance penciller, working on the graphic novels “Archie: Freshman Year”, books 1 and 2. He has also drawn for Marvel Comics “Age of the Sentry” #5 and Radioactive Man and Bart Simpson for Bongo Comics.





Leo Leibelman

Leo Leibelman began his professional career for Marvel comics in the pages of Savage Sword of Conan. He provided painted covers and interior artwork.  Leo then went on to work for Acclaim comics and worked on Turok Dinosaur Hunter and Magic the Gathering. After working at Marvel, he worked for Topps comics on the Hercules trading card series.





Tony Puryear

Tony Puryear is best known as the artist, co-creator and co-writer of Dark Horse Comics’ Concrete Park graphic novel and the screenwriter of Eraser, the 1996 smash-hit starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Tony co-wrote Concrete Park with his wife, actress and director Erika Alexander (Deja Vu, Judging Amy). Tony also wrote screenplays for Buck Rogers and Fahrenheit 451.

Brandon Sanderson

Brandon Sanderson is the author of the impressive Mistborn trilogy and the new 10-part fantasy series called The Stormlight Archive. Brandon was chosen  to complete Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series after his untimely passing. 2009′s The Gathering Storm and 2010′s Towers of Midnight were followed by the final volume in the series, A Memory of Light, in January 2013. Brandon’s books have been published in over twenty languages.




Richard Paul Evans

Richard Paul Evans is the #1 bestselling author of the Michael Vey series and The Christmas Box. Dan Wells

He has been nominated for both the Hugo and the Campbell Award, and has won two Parsec Awards for his podcast Writing Excuses.





David Farland

David Farland is an award-winning, New York Times bestselling author who has penned nearly fifty science fiction and fantasy novels for both adults and children including the smash-hit Runelords series. Along the way, he has also worked as the head judge for one of the world’s largest writing contests, as a creative writing instructor, as a videogame designer, as a screenwriter, and as a movie producer.





Heather Ostler

Author Heather Ostler published her debut novel The Shapeshifter’s Secret in 2012, followed by the sequel The Siren’s Secret, and The Secret of Darkwood CastleThe Shapeshifter’s Secret Series has been featured in the Deseret News, UVU Magazine, as well as on Good Things Utah, The Daily Dish, and Studio 5. Ostler and her family reside in Utah Valley with two remarkably pleasant pugs.





Paul Genesse

Paul Genesse is a writer of young adult fantasy novels and a cardiac unit nurse at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. His first book was The Golden Cord, the first of the Iron Dragon series, and was a best seller for Five Star Publishing. There are now two moreIron Dragon books, The Dragon Hunters and The Secret Empire, and two more books are forthcoming. His writing has been influenced by television series such as M*A*S*H and China Beach, as well as The Lord of the Rings series by J. R. R. Tolkien. He currently lives in South Jordan, Utah.
