Herald Extra: Comic Con panel: Utah fans still psyched about beloved show

(Herald Extra) Psych may have aired its final episode in 2014, but love for the show hasn’t cooled, especially in the Beehive State.

Lines started forming for the 10 a.m. FanX panel featuring stars James Roday (who plays fake psychic detective Shawn Spencer) and Dulé Hill (Shawn’s long-suffering partner Burton “Gus” Guster) well before 8 a.m. The Grand Ballroom reached capacity a little after 9.

All that dedication to the show seems to have paid off: Roday dropped a few hints at the end of the panel indicating that a “Psych” reunion might already be in the works.

Before the reunion tease, Hill and Roday offered plenty of insights about their time on the show to delight the roomful of superfans, who count Salt Lake Comic Con founder Dan Farr among their number.

The panel began with the mysterious appearance of a pineapple, true to the show’s culture. As he and Roday came onstage, Hill greeted the crowded ballroom with an enthusiastic, “What’s up, Psychos?” using the fans’ nickname.

An on-stage moderator kicked things off before opening the floor to guest questions. The moderator dove right in with a question every “Psych” fan wants to know: What’s the deal with the pineapples? (…)
