If you cannot check into the theater BEFORE 7:00PM on that evening, please do not enter to win (your tickets will be given away to those with standby passes). About Chappie: In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. But now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. As powerful, destructive forces start to see Chappie as a danger to mankind and order, they will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo and ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind. (Rated R)

  1. Jacob Call says:

My best friend of ten years and I instantly fell in love with District 9 the moment the opening credits appeared on screen. It is easily one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time, so naturally, you can probably guess the level of excitement I had when I first saw the Chappie trailer.

  2. Cadie Dover says:

I’ve been a huge fan of Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver for the longest time. Neill Blomkamp is a favorite director of mine and Sci-fi is my ultimate favorite genre. It’s everything I love in one movie! I would love it if I won! 🙂

  3. Josh Woytko says:

I should win because I run a podcast based around movies and gaming. And… I just had my first child. I want nothing more than to take my spouse to a movie.

  4. Shane Barney says:

This movie looks Awesome! I’m a huge sci-fi nut, so I am looking forward to this movie. The only thing better would be to win tickets.

  5. Christy Rasmussen says:

I was really worried this movie would be a children’s film like “Short Circuit.” The new previews have shown I was wrong, and I am now very excited to see this film!

  6. Austin Pugmire says:

Because I am a computer programmer and I need to learn how to program so that the robots will not kill us all. Our lives depend on me winning this.

  7. Victor Del Castro says:

I’ve been waiting to see Chappie … Would be awesome to win this. Die Antwoord are in it how badass!

  8. Skyler Stephens says:

I definitely think I should win some tickets to Chappie I have been waiting for a long time for it to come out, it looks really cool and I would be very appreciative 🙂

  9. Lynn Wiberg says:

Chappie represents the next step in the grand tradition of robot friend cinema. From the comic book hero Baymax in Big Hero 6 to the lovable 80s comedy sensation Jonny 5 in the Short Circuit series, we have long fantasized about what it means for AI to be alive. As a child, I was particularly fascinated by the relationship between Johnny 5 and Ben in Short Circuit 2. I’m very excited to see what Neil Blomkamp does to explore these themes in Chappie.

  10. Rachel Scott says:

I should win because Die Antwoord ROCKS!!!!!! i would love to see them in this movie. That chick, Yolandi Visser, has sick hair.

  11. Anna says:

It would be nice to win a pair of tickets to see this movie. It’s my birthday tomorrow and I’d like to go out and watch a movie with my husband. I’m not saying I should win and that it should be given to me. Let’s just say it’s just wishful thinking on my part. It would be nice if I win the tickets, but if not, at least I can’t say that I didn’t try. Good luck to everyone and kudos to the winner.

  12. Taeli McClure says:

My husband introduced me to DIE ANTWOORD when they first came out and I would love to repay the favor by surprising him and taking him to see Chappie!

  13. Delyla says:

My husband and I have been looking forward to this film since we heard about it! I also can’t wait to see Yolandi Visser on the big screen!

  14. Wayne Lee says:

Chappie looks like a fun mix of Short Circuit, Robocop, Pinocchio, and WALL-E. I look forward to seeing this film.

  15. Kyle M. says:

I want to see it because it looks a little bit like Short Circuit on steroids, mixed with a little bit of Robocop. Short Circuit was one of my favorite movies growing up, and this movie seems to be a version of that one which, like me, has also grown up.

  16. Stephanie Meek says:

Don’t really have a good reason other than my boyfriend and I are broke grad students and, even though this movie looks absolutely awesome and is definitely on my “to watch” list, we can’t afford to go to the movies.

  17. Gerson Monago says:

I want to go watch Chappie because it looks like an amazing film. The only information I had about it before was one simple Chappie Poster with the Robot playing around with Alphabet Blocks.

  18. Brandon Gailey says:

I would love to win because I have been waiting for this to come out ever since I found out about it almost over a year ago and have been following up on it since. The friend I want to take is in a down place right now since his divorce and I would love to cheer him up with a advanced screening to this since he has also been wanting to see this.

  19. Shauna says:

I would love to win tickets as a surprise for my husband, Brandon. He loves Neil Blomkamp movies and is especially excited about this one. He’s been struggling with a lot of stress lately and this would be a lovely present for him.
    Thank you!

  20. Ethan Brunner says:

I think I should screen this film because I love the singularity concept, and have since I seen short curcuit when I was a child, which just grew from there with Data, and terminators . The idea of man vs machine is a primitive battle of existence. A ethical discussion which may be had too Late. .

  21. JESUS GARCIA says:

I’ve been wanting to take my partner out on an awesome date for quite some time, we both are super nerds and this movie would be the perfect date for the both of us.

  22. Evelyn Hernandez says:

I would like to win these tickets because I want to take my super awesome nerdy boyfriend on a super awesome date! What better way than this!

  23. Ryne Moore says:

Blomkamp is one of my favorite directors. His movies are gritty, dirty, beautiful, and hit real issues in a fantastic way. I should win because I want to see this film more than other people, I can appreciate it more and I would hunt down the white whale for this film.

  24. Evan Rasmussen says:

in my life I never win anything except once, I won a book at a school book fair and the book was terrible. So i think with all the karma I’ve accumulated and not having won anything besides that poopy book I think I’m due for another win and hopefully chappie won’t be as bad as that book.

  25. Skyler W says:

I’ve had a crush on this girl from work for a couple years now and I’ve finally gotten up the nerve to ask her out. Being able to take her to an awesome movie for free would make it financially easier to do other cool things for the first date. Surely you don’t want me to fail because I’m poor?

  26. Nicholas Jenkins says:

I want to take my wife to the movies, we don’t get to do things that cost money. So I want to win to take my wife out on a date. instead of waiting for it to come out in redbox.

  27. Richard Vier says:

My girlfriend and I rarely find time for movies (always something to be done) and when we do, we usually realize that it’s probably not worth it to us (spending the money, that is. We have just enough to get by.)

Unless we get a gift card or something of the sort, we never go. If I won, we’d actually get a date without feeling fiscal guilt.

  28. Matthew Milligan says:

Big fan of Sci-fi, I’m a writer & I review films part time. Seeing this film would be an honor. District 9 was amazing. I’m sure this film will be a blast.

  29. Natalie Sant says:

I would love to take my stepson as a date. He and I have an up and down relationship. I am the mother in his life that he spends 90% of his time with. Just from the previews this movie seems to show you can’t judge a book by its cover or judge on what you are told to believe as truth

  30. William says:

Everytime I see this movie title I get excited for two reasons. Of course because I love sci-fi movies and this one looks awesome but the second reason is bothersome. My brain keeps seeing “Chappelle” instead of “Chappie” as the movie title and I get a little excited thinking that Dave Chapelle is finally coming back and he made a movie! Seconds later I snap out of it to realize that is says Chappie. Which is cool and all. I guess my mind just misses that funny dude Chappelle so much. So I need to see this movie as soon as possible to set my mind at ease or to possibly applaud Blomkamp for the awesome plot twist that has Dave Chappelle as the man in the robot suit. #WhatATwist #DreamsOfGrandeur

  31. Steve Lundberg says:

I’d like to review the movie due the story’s plot and the interactions that will take place through the movie, and to be honest I think I need something to unplugged to and just relax and enjoy a good movie with a decent plotline to it, and Chappie seems to have that as an opition.

  32. Karen Chidester says:

Because I adore Hugh Jackman and it is almost my Grand Daughter’s 16th birthday and she would love to see it!

  33. Stephen says:

I’d be absolutely stoked to see this film in an advanced screening.

There’s been a horrible lack of imaginative and engaging sci-fi in theatre and CHAPPiE looks like just the one to end that streak.

  34. Madison Mason says:

I am SO ready to see this movie!!! I think I should win for the purposes of being able to observe and become more like an awkward humanoid robot. Because y’know, why doesn’t want to be that? This will help complete my final transformation into a robot and that’s very important! Thank you! 🙂

  35. Rachael says:

id love to win! Not only because I never win things, but because I have been dying to see this movie and could use the break from real life.

  36. Brian says:

Always been a huge fan of Neil Blomkamp’s films. I always make sure to see all of his new movies as soon as they come out in theaters! This movie looks amazing, I can not wait to see it, would be awesome to have the opportunity to see it early.

  37. Emily Sawyer says:

Well, I love Comic Con and haven’t missed one yet, and I love movies, and will for sure be seeing this one. 🙂

  38. Michael Snow says:

My mother is a huge Hugh Jackman fan and I want to do something nice for her to thank her for all she has done for me.

  39. Johnathen Lieber says:

I would consider it an honor to win a prize from SLCC, as to why I should win.. If I were to win I would actually consider it a win for my son and that I would just be lucky to attend with him. He is super excited to see this movie and would consider it special if he got to go because of SLCC. We have been to every event since it’s start together and this would just be the icing on the cake. Thank you for the consideration.

  40. Julie Hill says:

My husband has really wanted to see this and Wednesday night is the only night he doesn’t have class, so it would be a perfect date night for us!! Thank you!!

  41. Jim Johnson says:

I should win because I currently work three jobs and don’t ever have time for a movie! (I would make time for this one 🙂 )

  42. Tracy Mangum says:

I am a HUGE Neil Blomkamp fan, and have been telling people that this film will be much more than a newer version of Short Circuit. He’s one of the best young directors working today, and his sci-fi is both futuristic, but grounded and humanistic. He uses relevant and current themes and sets them in a futuristic setting. I CANNOT wait to see what he does next in the Alien universe.

  43. Tina Hatch says:

I’d love to see this movie. I’m intrigued by the idea of the Singularity, and what it could mean to humankind when (not if) computers really do become self-aware.

This looks like an interesting take on that idea.

  44. Benjamin Peters says:

Bring in more characters from Game of Thrones, whether they’re living or deceased. Jon Snow, Kaleesi, Arya, The Hound, any of them!

  45. Fernando says:

I would like to win these tickets because I am a huge pre screening movie nut! And I love Neill Blomkamp! I’m such a fan. This movie is another great notch to his belt!

  46. Travis McFarland says:

Why should I win? Because not only do I love everything Neill Blomkamp has done, but I have an undying love for all things robot. Any robot is a good robot. From the ED-209 to that little robot that Rick built to pass the butter on Rick & Morty.
Butter Robot: What is my purpose?
    Rick: You pass butter.
Butter Robot: [looks at his hands; his shoulders sag] Oh my god.
Rick: Yeah, welcome to the club, pal.

  47. Alec says:

I really want to see this film because I am a huge Blomkamp fan (can’t wait to see what he does with Alien). I have been waiting to see this movie since I first heard about it over a year ago. The film looks amazing. I’m a huge Sci-Fi fan and this movie looks perfect. Looks funny, really good story, amazing cast, and Blomkamp always lends his signiture style to all his films. Also Die Antwoord is also in the film and my girlfriend is a huge fan of thiers. We are going to go see them in New Orleans in March.

  48. Anonymous says:

We couldn’t swing FanX but seeing Chappie would be the next-best thing and give us a fix to tide us over until September! #getyourgeekon. Thanks for the opportunity!

  49. AllisonR says:

We couldn’t afford FanX and are jonesing for a chance to commune with fellow geeks while we wait for September! Thanks for the opportunity. #getyourgeekon

  50. Robert Larsen says:

A long time ago, there was a kid who loved anything to do with robots. He lived robots, he dreamed robots, he breathed robots (well not literally breathed…). Droids form Star Wars – check, Old school Cylons from Battlestar – check, Twiki from Buck Rogers – Check…time went on as did his love for robots: Transformers, Voltron, Robotech, Short Circuit, the list goes on and on. Now that he is grown, he still loves all things robotic. He squeals like a girl at the advances in AI and cybernetic development. It would really make his day to get tickets to this awesome premier.

  51. Eric Cone says:

This would be a nice mood boost, as I’ve been unemployed and on the job search, unemployment line treadmill… Thanks for your consideration, and hope to see you soon.

  52. Shane Higgins says:

My friend and I have been wanting to see this for a while. I also give him crap because I think it looks like a remake of Short Circuit and he’s never seen that.

  53. Maloree says:

Pick me! My hubby would love to see this movie and it would be a fun free date night for the both of us!!

  54. Paul Long says:

I loved District 9, I hope this movie has the same original feel. Plus I enjoy exploring all of the possible “skynet” origins. lol.

  55. Shyla says:

Dint know if any one deserves to win…but I never win SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I’d love to. I’d take my Mema cause she deserves it for dealing with me.Thank you

  56. Sujeit Chacon says:

You see my name but you don’t know how it’s pronounced. You want to find out , so you ask a friend nearby and you both aren’t sure. So you both place bets to see who was closest to the pronunciation. You choose me as the winner & I reveal my name. The satisfaction when you find out was worth it. I thank you guys a million and cosplay as chappie. As a visual ” Thank You ” for the tickets.

  57. Austin Heaton says:

I want to win because I am leaving my girlfriend and friends to North Carolina for five months in early April, and right now I don’t have the money to be able to take my girlfriend out and treat her like I used to.

  58. Pepe says:

In district 9 we experienced racism from a science fiction point of view, then Elysium gave us a different perspective on immigration. I think movies like this are great because they have powerful messages about important things that are happening in our society and the way they tell this stories is very creative. I’m very excited about chappie!!

  59. Michael Orme says:

Neil Blomkamp is an amazing director. His original style reminds me of Ridley Scott. I’m glad we have directors with visions such as his.

  60. Marc Webb says:

You should pick me because my guest is Johnny Five! Johnny Five alive and want to see friend Chappie!!!!

  61. Greg Wilson says:

This movie looks so awesome! I just moved to the SL Valley from California for work and to be closer to family. I’ve never won tickets to anything and it would be awesome to start my new life adventure right, and go see a movie with my cousin.

  62. Carol Hunsaker says:

I would love to win tickets because I have been sick and broke since FanX and would love to get out of the house!! (:

  63. Israel says:

I want to go because Neil Blomkampf is the master of making sci fi reflect social problems that plague us and translate that into a future where our world is heading.

  64. Joshua Harris says:

It looks like a great film go see it’s should be a number one hit hope you pick me let your nerd flag fly and proud

  65. Greg says:

Huge fan of Superhero’s and bringing things to the imagination of crazy, what if’s! The actors are A rating and have always enjoyed watching Hugh Jackman in Wolverine.

  67. Lee Wyatt says:

This is a movie that not only do I want to see (just the idea of Hugh Jackman as a bad guy is thrilling) but also my son. He will be graduating high school next year, and shortly after that going on his mission. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to do something together before he is going out on his own into the world.

  68. Donna Orton says:

I would love to win- just because my husband and I haven’t been on a date by ourselves in I don’t know how many years 🙂

  69. George says:

I should be picked because I’ve been a big fan since Tetra Vaal! Also, my girlfriend hates this movie for no reason and I can’t wait to drag her to it!

  70. Darrin says:

I should win so I can take this girl I’ve been seeing with me to make awesome memories about our first days of dating.

  71. Jennifer says:

My suggestion is that you give me tickets so that I can take my delightfully nerdy daughter with her geeky mother for a girls’ night out! 😉

  72. Kaly Worthington says:

It looks like an amazing movie!!! I’ve never been able to see a movie for free at the theaters, and I didn’t realize I could’ve last time. I don’t want to miss out on my chance again.

  73. Shanyn says:

Die Antwoord is my favorite band and seeing them in advance would be amazing! My boyfriend has been waiting for this movie since Die Antwoord said they wanted to be in a big movie so this is big! It’d make our anniversary perfect, thanks (:

  74. Ebert Morales says:

I believe that I should win these tickets because I think that the underlining ethical and moral story of this movie is something that is very interesting, and something we may have to deal with soon. The idea of an artificial intelligence that may become sentient is something we as a human race will need to confront very quickly. To some a sentient AI can be seen as scary and as threat to the human concept of life, but fundamentally it is something that we cannot avoid. The debate will go on for years even after the creation of the first sentient AI because humans would be scared, some will want to know what makes it sentient, what makes it alive. Fundamentally does it have a soul? If so, is it so easy to just program a soul? If it’s just so easy to program a sentient creature, does that mean it’s so easy to program a soul? The moral consideration, if you consider it a moral issue, is that people of faith will feel that the soul will lose its divine meaning. It’s not so much about a sentient artificial intelligence, the debate is about people feeling that their soul will lose meaning, that it will just become code.

  75. Chase Healey says:

I’ve been dating this guy for about two months now and Blomkamp is one of his favorite directors. What better way to say I wanna make this official than taking him to a prescreening of this dope movie?! Am I right fellas?? Help me get the man!

  76. Elaine Dahle says:

I love a good scifi movie, add in some humanized robots, and Hugh Jackman and it sounds like a great night of entertainment. Small kids make theaters the perfect place for watching a movie for the grown ups. :0)

  77. Francisco Herrera says:

The Chappie Hype is real maaan. Seriously would pretty freaking awesome-potatos if I got some tickets man, its no longer the matter of wanting, I need to see this. Please dont deprive me of this master piece ;~; but yeah, some tickets would be bad***

  78. Franky Herrera says:

    Seriously tho, I need to this movie, why? Because potato. Please don’t deprive me of this masterpiece ;~;

  79. Christina Bredthauer says:

A movie by Blomkamp that has Die Antwoord in it!? Sign me up!

I feel like I should win these tickets just because!!

  80. Jordan Anderson says:

i love Neil Blomkamp and his two movies he has done so far! District 9 was my favorite of the two, but eLysium wasn’t bad! This would be amazing to go to!!!! I am literally obsessed with sci-fi movies! I hope i get a chance to win, either way I will be going.

  81. Charles King says:

A long time ago far from here, I lost my arm. It was replaced with a robotic arm that works pretty well, but I’m hoping this movie can give me some direction on where robotics are going and what I have to look forward to when Chappie hits consumer markets.

  82. Catie Webb says:

I would really like to see this movie because I have been an avid Die Antwoord fan since 2009 when my friend and I were driving the streets of Salt Lake City, and he played “Ritch B**ch” on his iPod, I was instantly hooked. I instantly fell in love with their crazy sound, outlandish messages, intense and humorous vulgarity and Zef lifestyle. I’ve been following the movie production closely since Volandi Visser sang the words “Neill Blomkamp’s gonna make me a star.” The premise seems wild and crazy and fun, and I’m excited to see how mainstream media will interpret the anti-commercialism message behind Die Antwoord, or to see if it even comes through (I’ve read that there were lots of problems between Ninja and some of the production cast and crew…apparently he’s difficult to work with, but, really, what did they expect?” I really hope the film stays true to Zef…and that Chappie becomes the Zeffest robot out there.

  83. Courteney Peterson says:

March 4th is actually my birthday. Turning 29 baby!!
It’d be awesome to have a birthday date night with my hubby to go see this movie.
Thanks and you guys are awesome!!

  84. Nicole Mickelson says:

My 9 year old daughter loves robotics, and even built her own robot that she received from Santa last year. I would really love to take her to see this movie. I think any movie based on robotics could help encourage her to continue to follow her dream to be an engineer, and in her words “build a robot that looks like me and can do my chores.”

  85. Laura Lopez says:

My hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary that month and it would be an awesome gift for the SIFi lovers we are 🙂

  86. Abel Gonzalez says:

Being a child of the 80’s Short Curcuit with the incredible Steve Guttenburg… Guttenberg? Anyways Short Circuit was a milestone in my childhood. Seeing that movie made me want to believe that a robot could become self aware and have emotions. The director of Chappie blew me away with District 9 yet alone Shartlo Copley and I would be honored to be your guest in watching this duo again in Chappie. In the infamous words of Johnny 5……… “Chappie is ALIVE!”
    Well maybe not Johnny 5

  87. Jeff Briggs says:

Because I haven’t been to the theater in almost 4 years. Last movie I saw was Fast Five in April of 2011. And I miss the Nachos.

  88. Carin Carter says:

As a stay-at-home mother of two awesome little girls, I would love nothing more than a rad “hot date night” [what our girls call movie night] with my husband, baby-free! Were both just itching to see Chappie!

  89. Lisa Duckworth says:

I hope Chappie doesn’t see this or hope to run for president…
    Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey:
I wish a robot would get elected president.
That way, when he came to town,
we could all take a shot at him
    and not feel too bad.

  90. Ty says:

I should win the tickets to chappie, because I’m a real man! A real man with a rational fear of spiders! Only a real man would admit to that?

  91. Isaac Barker says:

The first trailer of Chappie blew me away! It seems like it could be an emotionally intelligent ride. My most anticipated movie right now. I can’t wait to see how well Neil and Weaver work together since Neil will be directing the new Aliens sequel!!!

  92. Michael Molleman says:

I just would like to win them an attend a movie that has peaked my interest. the idea of robot becoming human has been visited rarely again and again and i hope to see something i haven’t seen before.

  93. Ziv says:

Because I love Robots, Ninja, Yolandi, Wikus & Africa. In fact, Robots & Africa are my favorite words, and go splendid together.

  94. Uriel Lizardi says:

I feel this movie accurately portrays the sentiments of humans feeling threatened by their own creations! I want to be at this screening rooting for our soon to be Metallic Overlords!!!!

  95. Nathan Fisher says:

I recently have been medically separated from the military due to an attack, which shattered my face and caused bruising to my brain. Even with memory loss I consider myself a movie buff, and watch many movies to pass the time. Being new to Utah and knowing very few people, I usually just go to school and stay at home because of my disabilities and my 2 year old son. If I were to win tickets to Chappie it would allow me to get out and possibly meet other people; at the very least give me a reason to get out. Chappie also reminds me of the 3 part movie named “Doomsday Book”. The second part, “The Heavenly Creature”, is about a robot (RU-4) who becomes Buddhist and claims to have achieved “enlightenment”. Although RU-4 claims to think and feel for himself, the other monks try to save him as he faces possible termination due to the belief that he simply has a technical glitch. I suppose fear of the unknown can cause any man to attempt silencing that which is not.

  96. Jeremy Waters says:

Me and my brother are so excited to see this movie! And my birthday was in February so it would be an awesome birthday present! Plus we love SLCC and go every year! You guys are awesome! Live long and prosper #RIPLeonardNimoy

  97. DHannie Cogdell says:

My best friend and I love die antword and are super excited to see them in there first movie. We have been looking forward to seeing this movie ever since we saw the trailer months ago. It would be fantastic to win tickets to see this movie but to be able to win an advanced screening of this movie would be awesome.

  98. Brandi Lagasse says:

I think it looks like a really good movie and I would love to be able to go see it and drag my boyfriend along with me

  99. Jamie b. says:

I would like to win because I can already tell I am going to be a fan of this movie. We play in the same sandbox.

  100. Marlyn Haro says:

My husband and I would really appreciate a date night. We are big comic con fans and young parents of two. Date night for us does not happen very often. Please help us make it happen. Thank you!

  101. Rio Turnbull says:

I should be one to win tickets to this screening because I’d be taking my little brother, 13, who, when he first saw this trailer a few months back, excitedly showed it to me and the entire family several times over. Not only does it look like a film with quite a bit of amazing spectacle, it also sounds thought-provoking — if there’s anything my brother and I like better than seeing a film that is “really cool” to watch, it’s being able to walk away talking about the depth of the story and how it applies to society today. I haven’t been able to spend a ton of time with my little brother lately, so I know he’d absolutely love it if I were to win these tickets and I were to surprise him when I did 🙂

  102. Breanna Kilpack says:

I’m a broke college kid struggling to fund my undying love for everything nerdy and/or awesome. Also my major is computer animation so this is purely educational for me. Obviously.

  103. Dean Westerfield says:

I would Love to win these tickets to take my autistic son to see this. He is very smart and loves computers.

  104. Daniel Chen says:

I want to see CHAPPIE in the hopes that Neill Blomkamp successfully presents his vision unlike with Elysium.

  105. Jerri says:

My husband really wants to see this, he just asked me the other day if I was going to buy tickets, so what better way then to surprise him with tickets that won. 🙂

  106. Nate says:

I should win because my friend and I have watched the trailer like 15 times, so I think it’s about time we see the full film!

  107. John Ford says:

I kneel only before Odin (and occasionally Crom, but don’t tell Odin!), and I would be sure to invite Hugin and Munin with me to the screening so that they could tell Odin all about how badass this Short Circuit remake is.

  108. Melody Ryan says:

I would love to win tickets for this movie. My husband and I have 3 children and so date night is rare for us. Winning tickets would be great so that we could enjoy a night by ourselves. Also my husband keeps talking about how much he wants to see this movie and it would be great to surprise him with tickets.

  159. Richard says:

So there I was sitting with Neill Blomkamp, and I say to him, I say “Niel, you know what would be awesome?” and he says, “What?”. “You should do a robot movie.” I say. “Hmph” Says Neil obviously having heard this argument before. I tell him, “No no, Check this out, the robot is like a little kid, he doesn’t know right and wrong.” “Uh-huh, Who will teach him then?” says neil. I grin, “someone totally freaky, like die antwoord, you’re friends with them right?” Neil nods, a smile on his face. “Add in a super sinister big bad guy like… Sigourney weaver and she’ll be all like “Hugh jackman, take this robot army and find this learning robot before it makes more of itself!. Then there’s explosions and stuff!” I say, waving my arms in the air. “That… sounds awesome.” Says Neil.

And that’s the totally true story about Chappie, and how Neill Blomkamp is super cool.

I’m a big fan, and i’d love to see hugh blow up things.

  160. Stacey says:

Really loving the chance to score these tickets because my Old Man never wants to go anywhere and today he says…Baby, win us some tickets to Chappie. Well……I DECLARE!!!!!! I’M ON IT!!!!!

  161. Laura McMillian says:

My spouse is building a bipedal robot as a business venture. Also, we follow the duo Die Antwoord that’s in the movie.

  162. Summer says:

I have been a huge fan of Neill Blomkamp ever since District 9! He truly is a creative genius! I found out later one of his first 3D animation projects was with Stargate! I am a newly starting out film student and Neill has been a huge inspiration to me in finding my own personal style in filming. I would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to have the opportunity to see an advanced screening as I have been waiting since mid last year for Chappie & I can hardly wait another day to experience Neills’s newest film vision! This will be so inspiring for me! Thank you for the opportunity!
