LONDON — J.K. Rowling wants a lot of people to keep a big secret.
“You’ve been amazing for years at keeping Harry Potter secrets so you didn’t spoil the books for readers who came after you,” she says in a video on the website for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” “So I’m asking you one more time to keep secrets and let audiences enjoy ‘Cursed Child’ with all the surprises that we’ve built into the story.”
Longtime Potter fan Jessica Dalton of American Fork is perfectly fine with keeping a secret.
“I don’t want to spoil it for myself,” she said. “I definitely don’t want to spoil it for other people. It’s one of those common courtesy things.”
Catherine Weller, co-owner of Weller Book Works, says Harry Potter fans are used to big secrets and big reveals.
