The panel featured on today’s podcast took place on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 7pm in room 251a of the Salt Palace Convention Center. It was titled J.K. Rowling: Leader of the Equality Revolution and is about the powerful efforts of author JK Rowling to foster equality through her books, chiefly the Harry Potter series.

Today’s panel features

Dawn Pink (@badger4lyfe) who was on the panel about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is a local activist and Harry Potter fanatic

Lehua Parker (@LehuaParker) is the award-winning author of the MG/YA Pacific literature magic realism series, The Niuhi Shark Saga: One Boy, No Water; One Shark, No Swim;and One Truth, No Lie.

Originally from Hawaii and a graduate of The Kamehameha Schools, Lehua is an author, educator, and public speaker. Anime Happy Hour at SLCC

Gavin’s Underground interviews SLCC Alumni Panelists Anime Happy Hour

Anime Happy Hour at SLCC

(City Weekly)  These are great times to be an anime fan. Tons of content is being produced overseas and exported to the states through companies like Funimation and CrunchyRoll, so it’s only natural that the audience for it would be growing, even if you only end up liking one particular show. (…) One of the latest fan appreciation endeavors to come out of Utah is the Anime Happy Hour, a podcast dedicated to watching anime and giving you the latest news, both from your favorites and from  new stuff you’ve never heard of before. Today we chat with the four hosts of the program about recording episodes about their animated love. (All photos provided courtesy of Anime Happy Hour.)
