Salt Lake Comic Con is a world-class pop culture phenomenon that brings the best in entertainment to the Intermountain West. With celebrity guest panels, autograph signings, photo ops, gaming competitions, cosplay, contests, special events, and KidCon, there is something for everyone.

Salt Lake Comic Con gives fans up-close and personal interaction with their favorite actors, authors and stars. With guests from TV shows and films such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Firefly, The Walking Dead and more, Salt Lake Comic Con is the ultimate fan celebration!

History

The first Salt Lake Comic Con was held September 5–7, 2013 and was produced by Dan Farr Productions and was founded by Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg. The event was completely sold out with over 72,000 people, making it the most attended convention in the state of Utah. Each event after has had record breaking numbers with Salt Lake Comic Con 2014 making the largest outing yet at over 120,000 attendees, making it the third largest convention in the United States and the largest comic con in the world per capita. Salt Lake Comic Con had its biggest and best event yet on September 24-26, 2015 with over 127,000 attendees!

The Founders of Salt Lake Comic Con

Dan Farr

Dan Farr  is an entrepreneur, known for co-founding Salt Lake Comic Con.  He partnered with Bryan Brandenburg,  and with MediaOne of Utah, ABC4/CW TV of Utah, Cumulus Media to market the event.  The first annual Salt Lake Comic Con took place on September 5–7, 2013 and had over 75,000 attendees. It was the largest first year Comic Con event in history in North America,  double the numbers of New York Comic Con’s first year and was the largest convention ever to take place in the state of Utah.  Since then, every Salt Lake Comic Con has become bigger and better than the last.  With Salt Lake Comic Con 2015 just around the corner, Dan is excited for the best event yet.

Bryan Brandenburg
Bryan Brandenburg is a serial entrepreneur, marketing expert and scientist. He has founded two of the largest independent computer game companies in the country and produced games for Disney, Microsoft, Hasbro and Dreamworks. He has been a senior executive and partner in two of the industry’s top 3D model companies, selling 3D models and software to over 1 million artists worldwide including the most sophisticated 3D anatomy for scientific visualization available. He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder of Salt Lake Comic Con that broke multiple records including the most attended convention in the state of Utah and largest first year Comic Con in North American history. Salt Lake Comic Con currently has the #1 Facebook page for Fan Engagement in the State of Utah as well as the record for the largest comic con in North America per capita. The event was written about in Forbes magazine, Inc. Hollywood Reporter and the Huffington Post. Bryan received his education at Weber State University in Mathematics and Physics.
